Jaipur, Rajasthan, India

A unique celebration was organised at Hathi Gaon (Elephant Village) in Jaipur ahead of the birthday of Anant Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Industries Limited, highlighting his well-known commitment to animal welfare.

The event, held a day before his birthday, brought together caretakers, local organisers, and community members to mark the occasion in a meaningful way centered around the well-being of elephants housed at the facility.

Speaking on the occasion, Hathi Gaon Development Committee President Shafiq Ballu Khan shared details of the arrangements made for the animals and their caretakers. “We have organised a buffet of fruits for elephants, and provided a one-month ration to the elephant handlers here,” he said, emphasizing that the celebration was designed to directly benefit both the animals and those who look after them.

He also expressed enthusiasm about Ambani’s association with the initiative. “This is a matter of great fortune for us at Hathi Gaon that Ambani ji will join our family soon,” Khan added, indicating expectations of closer engagement or support in the future.

Hathi Gaon, often referred to as Elephant Village, serves as a dedicated space for the care and rehabilitation of elephants and has increasingly become a focal point for animal welfare-related activities in Rajasthan. Events like these aim to raise awareness about the needs of elephants and the importance of ethical care practices.

Anant Ambani has gained recognition in recent years for his interest in wildlife conservation and animal welfare initiatives, often supporting efforts that focus on rescue, rehabilitation, and better living conditions for animals.

The celebration reflects a broader trend of marking personal milestones with socially impactful initiatives, particularly those that contribute to conservation and community welfare.

The event at Hathi Gaon not only celebrated Anant Ambani’s birthday but also underscored the importance of compassion and care for animals, bringing attention to the welfare of elephants and their caretakers in the region.
